The purpose of this mission is to post spottings of the wonderful birds of India in the wildlife.

My spottings are from the north part of India from west (Gujarat) to east at the foothills of the Himalaya. Please only post spottings from Maharastra region.

In India are around 1301 species:
42 are endemic
1 introduced by humans
26 are rare or accidental.
2 species have been extirpated in India
82 species are globally threatened

The National Bird of India is The Indian Peacock (Pavo cristatus).

You can use this link to help you identify your spottings. I found that, from all links I had used, this is the easiest and most complete one.
