To document the biodiversity of Jekyll Island with special emphasis on turtles and their habitats. All photos of animals, plants and habitats are welcome. But, of course, we will be going where the turtles are!
Jekyll Island has beaches where sea turtles, shorebirds and several other species live and breed. However, we also have maritime forests and freshwater streams and ponds on which a number of other species depend. Eastern box turtles, softshell turtles, sliders and chicken turtles are just a few of the other turtle species that we can find on the island. We will be exploring these different habitats and looking at all of the plants and animals living with the turtles on Jekyll Island. Choose a species or a habitat and build a photo gallery to teach others about this special place!
