Field Notes

Description:

Maybe a cm in length -- It may have been a bit larger. There are lots of these black ants up at the cottage -- more this year than most. I am completely lost when it comes to ants; I know the ones that are ruining my cabin are carpenter ants! I don't usually use a 210mm to shoot macro, but I must have wanted to mix it up some :)

Habitat:

Diverse Woods near a small lake.

Notes:

The ant is crawling on the front door of the cabin -- It faces South and hasn't been painted in a few years.
