Amanita vittadinii, very rare and super awesome mushroom! It is said to be saprophytic, instead of mycorrhizal. It might be one of the first Amanitas, in a sense of ancient ancestral Amanita. This is also supported by molecular studies, which place this species right at the start of the phylogenetic tree. http://www.amanitaceae.org/?Amanita%20vittadinii
Were there any trees nearby?
Cool one. It is an Amanita in the section Lepidella. The habitat and overall appearance make me think Amanita thiersii but that is in American species that has never been reported in Europe.
