Field Notes

Description:

About 14" tall. Very narrow 1.5 - 2" leaves are densely packed on the lower regions of the stem, but less so closer to the ends of the stem.

Flowers are about 3/4", yellow, calyx tubular, not fuzzy or rough, although there are scales. (similar to iron weed, I thought ).

Habitat:

Abandoned lot across the street, Ocala Florida . Oaky, prickly pears, dog fennel , liatris and paintbrush also grow there.
