I agree that this is not a female House Sparrow, bill and proportions are wrong. Not a Pipit (Anthus) either; tail is not long enough and head shape is off. This is a Lark, specifically genus Aluada. Pretty sure it's an Oriental, they are the most common.
This is so not a female House Sparrow... This is an Anthus sp., not sure what kind you have down there.
