Field Notes

Notes:

Are they mating or fighting? I was riding on the bosque, and saw several little aggregates under a tree. These little aggregates would fall to the ground every so often. I don't know if the aggregates were falling from the tree or the sky.

I'm going to put in an "educated guess"... mating? I see both winged individuals and non-winged. Check this article out. It is very informative! http://www.colostate.edu/Dept/CoopExt/4DMG/Pests/flyant.htm
