Field Notes

Description:

A small moth about 10 mm long. It was uniformly cream-coloured with a dark brown underside, Labial palps were also pale and re-curved. Eyes were dark and antennae were swept back on either side of body.

Habitat:

Spotted in a nature reserve on an unknown species of plant - ?Proteales

Notes:

My thanks to David Hewitt for the ID, albeit tentative. Larvae of this moth feed on banksia species.
Some references show this moth with longer labial palps.
