Description:

They have shorter wings and and a shorter neck than the swans and geese. They live from 2 to 12 years.

Habitat:

They are found in wetlands, such as ponds, streams, lakes, and lagoons, and woodland areas, such as swamp forests and stands of mangrove trees.

This is actually not an American black duck, it's a domesticated duck that ranges from white to black or even both black and white body, usually with some red wart looking skin on their head and face.
