Yes, it apparently is another name for crinum - which was odd, because they also identified crinum lilies for us. My problem with this one is the leaves aren't right for ginger and while the flower's color is almost right, the shape is off. I'm going to compare to the sightings I had in Impalila island of obviously the same thing and see if I can find larger plants. These didn't have the leaves opposite each other on a stalk as shown in your website, and what I remember from wild ginger at botanical gardens in So Cal.
