Field Notes

Description:

Some 60 cm tall perennial, with narrow green-greyish basal leaves. Flowers borne in spikes, white, 6 petaled and star shaped.

Habitat:

Mediterranean region, widespread - seen on stony grounds in cities and garrigue. Very common.

Notes:

Some literature note the toxic characteristics of asphodelus, without the precision of which part is concerned.
