Field Notes

Description:

This beetle was found under the bracket fungi. The fungi was on a decaying tree. The beetle was black and had orange spots. The beetle was about 2 cm long and 1 cm wide it was very small. The was more than 1 bracket fungi on the dead tree. The beetle was hanging up side down and was alone.

Habitat:

In the Singapore secondary rainforest, the fungus was about chest height and the beetle was in a shaded area.

Notes:

Maybe the orange spots on its back are a warning sign for other insects and animals.
