Field Notes

Description:

They're about 10-12mm long and perhaps they mimic the seeds or seed pods of the host plant. The black ones are the males, while females are light in colour. In picture #2 they can be seen in their roosting pose, sitting in a line along the center of a leaf.

Habitat:

Andean thick bushland at about 2500m above sea level.

Notes:

These pictures were taken in Parque El Paraiso in the city of Cuenca.
