Field Notes

Description:

Tall with yellow flower heads that sometimes have reddish-brown blotches at the base of the ray laminae or petals.

Habitat:

It is found growing in ditches and flatwoods on moist sandy soils.[2] It's cultivated in gardens for its attractive flowers. This specimen was observed growing along side a small road in the ditch near a culvert w/ many others like it.
