Description:
A large colony of an invasive aquatic plant that is native to the Amazon basin. A fast-growing plant that can choke out native species in a hurry. Flowers have six petals. Water hyacinth is a free-floating perennial aquatic plant (or hydrophyte).
Habitat:
Spotted at Willow Beach Park at the end of a small lake near the Arkansas River.
