Description:

1 person on VT Atlas ID'd this as a female Cardinal. I see no crest, or black on its face. I think this is one for Ashley... It also has a very long tail. It looks buffy/tan until I looked closer up and saw the red.

Yes, a juvenile Northern Cardinal. The large, almost pyramid-shaped beak is a good clue for this one. The juveniles are slow to develop the black mask and young birds are less inclined to erect their crest feathers.
