Field Notes

Description:

Large size - the fruit body is 3–12 inches across and up to 4 inches thick. The body can be creamy yellowish to tan/brown and has scales on its upper side. The cap is usually fan or kidney shaped.

Habitat:

Spotted growing out of a snag approximately 15-20 feet off the ground.
