Field Notes

Description:

Almost 3.5 inch 2nd year larva.

Habitat:

Stream bottom, cobble & large gravel riffle. This is a Class AA stream, part of a public water supply watershed. Excellent trout stream.

Notes:

I've been doing Rapid bioassessment for 15 years and I've gotten some big ones before, but NEVER one this size. Freaked me out a bit. Found 2 more almost as large on the next pass with the net
