Icterus cucullatus
33.0199, -116.694
Field Notes
Description:
Named for the orange hood on the male, this slender oriole is at home in suburban areas of the southwestern United States. It originally nested in the trees of desert oases, but finds ornamental trees suitable.
Habitat:
Orange groves. Hummingbird feeder.
Notes:
This guy just discovered that we still had our hummingbird feeder up after a winter of him being gone. Hopefully he'll stick around and raise a brood like last year.
