Field Notes

Description:

The Thick-billed Kingbird is a large bird in the Tyrannidae family, the tyrant flycatchers. This bird breeds from southeastern Arizona, extreme southwestern New Mexico, and northern Sonora, in the United States.

Habitat:

Sycamores in a green space.

Notes:

This guy has been returning each winter for a many winters here in San Diego county. It's one of the most reliable ones in the country, being in the same six trees almost all winter. I finally made a trip to see him before he goes off to Arizona for the summer.
