Field Notes

Description:

Bess Beetles. The females were large, 3 cm long, with red hair along the edges of the abdomen and thorax and some on the legs. The males were only half the size of the females and lacked the red hair. Family Passalidae.

Habitat:

Found under an old log, Las Nubes Park and Waterfall, Santo Domingo River, Chiapas.
