I'd agree with Keith that this is a ground beetle of some sort. There are lots of ground beetle species, but you may be able to narrow an ID down with some browsing at http://bugguide.net/node/view/186/bgpage. Fortunately, this isn't an emerald ash borer, which is indeed a very actor in North America.

It's color of an ash borer but the shape is exactly like a black beetle only shiny green. I have no clue!!
Uh oh... possibly Emerald Ash Border? If it is, that's bad.
