Field Notes

Description:

Big stocky Kingfisher lookalikey. With a fat beak and at the end a small grin. Human like eyes, and black and white markings.

Habitat:

In a garden near the Coconuts, near the coast and river Johnstone, Innisfail, Queensland, Australia.

Notes:

I have been looking for the kookaburra for the whole two weeks of our holiday and just at the end of our last trip where I was hoping to have a last change to see it, we drove home. Just about 3 minutes away from our house I saw this fella sitting on a fence in the rain. I called STOP KOOKABURRA and we stopped. I love his smiling mouth!
