Field Notes

Description:

Small Kingfisher, about 20cm, Bright bright Blue wings and bright red chest. Black beak, orange feet, white patches on top of his shoulders and at his "eyebrow"

Habitat:

On a rock in a fast streaming creek, near the Boulders of Babinda at Mount Bartle Frere. Queensland, Australia

Notes:

We saw this little one on our way to the boulders and when we stopped he flew of. But about 3 hours later he was sitting on the same spot again. Must be his best fishing spot.
He posed for a while and even gave me the "Penguin pose" ( 5 ) :-)
