Description:

Fungi growing on a Grasshopper.
Am curious if its the Fungi that kills the Grasshopper or if its a dead Grasshopper with Fungi growing on it.

Tropical forest

Cordyceps fungus spores are inhaled by the insect, the fungus grows inside it, takes control of the insect and then kills it, eventually growing out of it and spreading its spores to infect more insects. So, the fungus kills the insect.
