Field Notes

Description:

Very large frog, note lack of strong dorsal ridge behind ear.

Habitat:

Found in an artificial wetland, surrounded by native shortgrass prairie. Very, very dry, as area is suffering from severe drought.

Notes:

This species is native to eastern North America, but has been transplanted to the western U.S. where it is decidedly undesirable.
