This pretty little moth is a pretty pestiferous little moth, with the larvae feeding on various plants of the Cucurbitae family including cucumber, bitter gourd, melon, cotton, jasmine, okra and sweet potato. It is also called a Flower-tailed moth because of the way it spreads it's "tail feathers" or Hair pencils. See pictures of the larva on the reference site.
