Field Notes

Habitat:

Found on a poppy flower in our vegetable garden.

Notes:

At least 4 of them on this flower. It was the first poppy flower to open this spring. My last spotting, a few feet away, of this same beetle was on a poppy leaf. The White Prickly Poppy, Argentine albiflora, is native to North America but not this far east. It was introduced to our garden in a wildflower mix and has naturalized. Last year these beetles were also on these same flowers.
