Field Notes

Description:

The birds were nesting gregariously. One of a pair was in the nest, the other standing nearby. The nest seems to be "padded"with leaves and flowers (?) which have dried and present a nice contrast to the greenery of the leaves of the trees on which the nest is. The nest looks festooned with these dried material. Sticks have also been used.

Habitat:

On tall trees at an extremely busy intersection...that may be a protection. People have no time to look up and see birds.
