Field Notes

Description:

This rubber boa was found on a evening trail hike from coming off a climb. With only head lights i saw this tiny creature on the path that we were taking. at first i thought it was an eroded branch with the bark striped off. Stopping to examine this odd branch i looked closer and it started to move. Picking it up i noticed the tale looks like the head and the head looks like the tail! it had a tanish peach color with just a few dark spots. and a very light yellow under belly. what a great find!

Habitat:

rocky terrain, with brush and debris. few large trees. where i found it

Notes:

the snake was a very beautiful site. it really does feel like rubber!
