Description:

Family: Saturniidae, Subfamily: Saturniinae (Giant Silk Moths) Female (less bushy antennae) Wingspan: Nearly 150 mm (6 inches). Colorful large, flat-winged silk moth with pinkish cinnamon wings marked with transparent eyespots surrounded by yellow and blue rings. Does not have mouthparts. Hosts: Trees and shrubs including ash, birch, grape, hickory, maple.

Habitat:

Woodlands. Will come to light (came to front porch light)
