This species complex within the Hyalophora is a bit of a mess - see Bugguide for details. I have included links to a few papers & incl. sources discussing the issues.
Fo details, compare H. gloveri (http://bugguide.net/node/view/116365) and H. columbia (http://bugguide.net/node/view/523609)
NOT Glover's Silk Moth - H. columbia gloveri comprises all populations to the west ...along the Western Plains, Rockies and Great Basin States (all similar moths/populations occurring in the Great Lakes region and east belong to H. columbia nominate).
What a lovely moth! This looks more like Glover's Silkmoth to me though: http://bugguide.net/node/view/489811/bgimage
