Description:

Male and Female of a black March Fly that is common on flowers. The male is much smaller and holds it's wings open, while the female has her wings closed over the abdomen. Female about 8 mm long. Family Bibionidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
