Field Notes

Description:

All white with scattered black spots. Yellow and black striped abdomen. 1 1/2" across from wing tip to wing tip. about 1" long from the head to the end of the abdomen.

Habitat:

4500' elevation. High desert grassland approximately 3-4 mi away from scrub oak forest.

Notes:

This moth was caught using a black light trap on a humid, waxing moon night. High illumination from the moon on the 21st led to a low capture rate of other species.
