Pileated Woodpecker
Dryocopus pileatus
45.4587, -73.9436
Field Notes
Description:
High in the tree during Autumn, I heard him first, searching for worms in thrunk.
Habitat:
Deciduous forests in eastern North America, the Great Lakes, the boreal forests of Canada, and parts of the Pacific coast
Notes:
I like the contrast with the Fall colors. I went walking at the Cap St Jacques park to see if my zoom lens was correctly fixed, and it was good to see it working and being able to take this picture as he is high on tree top.
