Description:

On my window last night under the verandah light. Maybe 3 inches from wing tip to wing tip.

Habitat:

Cleared garden area on the edge of the Monteverde Cloud Forest, Costa Rica.

This is one of my favorites. When I'm out mothing for 4 hours every morning, these moths tend to land on me and keep me company for a while. Am I anthropomorphizing them? Yes. Does it still bring me some small comfort in the wee hours of the morning? Absolutely!
Bombycidae, Apatelodinae or Apatelodidae.
