Not an expert as I don't fish but there are three possibilities of sunfish species: bluegill, pumpkinseed, and green sunfish. Pumpkinseed has some orange with the side "ear" spot and bluegill has a dark spot at the back of the top fin. Also pumpkinseed and green sunfish has top fin more in two parts. Best I can tell Green Sunfish is best match. Next sunny day I'll have to go into the water and wiggle my toes and look closer to be 100 percent sure.
