Field Notes

Description:

Purplish worm with a cream-colored underside and markings on the head.

Habitat:

Found under a rock on a beach on Popof Island

Notes:

I am pretty sure on ID, but coloration is also similar to Paranemertes peregrina. According to most sources I could find, this species has distinct head markings, but I unfortunately only got one angle showing the markings. http://juneaunature.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/pdfs/baldwin2013.pdf
