Field Notes
Description:
Australian bird, mostly white feathers with hint of pink and lemon yellow, small blended pink patch between eyes and beak, fleshy pale blue eye ring. Usually seen in large noisy flocks. Feeds mostly on the ground devouring seeds and grains, bulbs and tubers. Males & females are similar. Adults grow to around 30 to 35cm.
Habitat:
Found throughout much of Australia particularly inland although individuals and flocks often extend beyond population distribution maps. usually found near watercourses, and enjoy roosting in larger trees. These ones near river in town area roosting in large tree.
