Field Notes

Description:

'The Clipper is a fast flying butterfly and has a habit of flying with its wings flapping stiffly between the horizontal position and a few degrees below the horizontal. It may glide between spurts of flapping.'

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I only spotted this butterfly a few times and it was extremely difficult to photograph. It wouldn't land near me or stay put for very long, so I only managed a few shots from a distance. I've cropped it for a better look. Bogani Nani Wartabone national park.
