Setophaga petechia
36.2093, -81.7784
Field Notes
Description:
These birds feed mainly on arthropods, in particular insects. They acquire prey by gleaning in shrubs and on tree branches, and by hawking prey that tries to fly away.
Habitat:
Urban nature park
Notes:
During a birding trip, I tried to get good photos of this warbler but it hopped around in the foliage so much, my efforts were not rewarded. But at least I did get a record of having seen it!
