Description:

Possibly Paropsis charybdis but this one has much stronger colours and maybe a slightly different profile - more of a hump at the rear. About 10mm long.

Habitat:

On a vehicle at a used car yard under very powerful night lights.

Thanks peoples. Sergio there's a huge number of species that specialise on gum trees. I think we're just scratching the surface. Every time I try to ID one I learn about more to be found.
Thanks Martin. If you're lucky the vehicles can give some excellent (albeit artificial) backgrounds. Looking forward to the results.
Very nice Mark. I think I will need to do some night time tyre kicking too - they seem to like cars. I agree with your guess. Morwell link shows two different forms that they are calling P. charybdis and the second is certainly the same as yours.
