Description:

Marsh St.John's wort is an erect simple or bush short plant with paired leaves. It grows in wet sands, bogs, and swamps to a height of one or two feet. The stems are usually pinkish-brown, but may turn darker red later in the season. The five sepals may be pinkish in color. The seed capsule is long and pointed and is red-purple in color. Leaves may become brighter color as the seed capsules form. Three orange glands are in the center of the flower.

Located past the Beach road on the left "V". Great Lake Averill, Vermont.
