Field Notes

Description:

Beetle or Moth larva? frass held together with silk. The larva covers itself with this "blanket" to protect itself while it eats the tree's bark. The host is Beefwood Grevillia Grevillea striata.

Habitat:

Savannah grasslands/woodlands Kimberley. The host is Beefwood Grevillia Grevillea striata.

Thanks Neil and Mark. I don't know if it will rebuild the curtin. I probably cant find that specific one but I will try tomorrow. I should have turned it over the check legs.
