Field Notes

Description:

The pupal stage of M. sexta. It entered its pupal stage on August 18th and finished it on September 3rd. Notice the proboscis. The case gets darker and then translucent as it develops.

Notes:

While in the pupal form, it can still move around. It can wiggle its posterior end, flipping itself around. It can overwinter in its pupal form.
