Field Notes
Description:
Golden Dalea is an upright perennial standing about 12-22 inches in height with a woody taproot. Individual flowers are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch long and form a circle around a spike. The yellow flowers bloom a few at a time. The spike is silky-gray and covered with soft hairs. The leaves are fairly small at about 3/4 to two inches long with about five leaflets. Having sparse foliage may help this plant withstand drought.
Habitat:
Meadow in Miller Springs Park.
