Thanks, I will look into it :). Any idea what in the other picture ?
For sure those are some spiky patches, more than any I've seen, but patches can vary, as can color. Clincher would be a volva and appropriate gills and gill attachment. No doubt it is NOT Amanita muscaria, but maybe something specific to that area.
