Checked it, Dan - no specific minty smell...just usual common fresh grassy/herbal smell

Ok. You probably wouldn't smell the leaves unless you rubbed them. It might not be mint, but I'd still be interested to know if the leaves had a scent. Will be easier to ID once it flowers.
No smell detected, Dan - I did not rub the leafs, though. I am not sure about the suggestion of the mint family...the usual constallation of the leafs are 2 larger, 2 smaller leafs each bundle, right? Here we only have 2 large leafs each. It appears to be a pretty common plant and it appears also that only the fresh, new leafs have that deep purple (obergine) tone...
Nice dark leaves. Looks like the buds are going to open in a few weeks. Not sure what it is but looks to be a herb of some sort, maybe in the mint family. Did the leaves have any fragrance Lars?
