Field Notes

Description:

Found this off of a walking trail in my neighborhood. This is a baby copperhead. I wasn't as close as the pictures make it seem but I would be too close for comfort for most people.

Habitat:

They pretty much live in the eastern and central parts of the United States

Notes:

Even though this snake wasnt aggressive and a baby, I don't recommend being this close to venomous snake.

Yes, I beleive they are the pits and thanks! I've been trying to join for about a month but Project Noah wasn't working on my internet browsers.
Your first 2 additions to Project Noah are great...keep them coming...and welcome.
Wow! Cool shot...are those white holes the "pits" of a pit viper? Very nice.
