Thank you all for your further comments about the map! Project Noah is a free to use platform, entirely run by a handful of volunteers at this stage and with minimal funding which can not pay for full locations services anymore. You can still enter most countries and major cities in the mapping system but it does not recognize states, towns, villages or postal codes. GPS coordinates and pin dragging is the best we can offer at the moment; at least these offer accurate localization. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
I have trouble with the map too. My macro doesn't have GPS so I carry another little camera with GPS to take a locality picture to use for the coordinates. Or I ask for the GPS coordinates on google. Whenever I enter a city or park or any locality, nothing happens, it used to work in the past. Dragging the arrow around is really a pain.
Hi Kerry! The location you are trying to enter may not be recognized by our mapping system. If you edit your spotting, accurate adjustment of the map can done by left clicking the map pin and dragging it to the correct position, then dropping it; zoom in and repeat if needed. The location box will also accept coordinates if you have them, provided the correct format is used, numbers from 0.00 to 180.00, with a leading - for South and West.
I couldn't get my map to register the correct place Felix Fleck. I had it happen all that day to all my spottings. The map just stayed at my home. ??????? Will try again to edit the place.
Perhaps there are some regional colour variations... I saw some in WA that were also slightly different in colour. By the way, according to the map you found this bug in NSW, not in the NT. Cheers.
